Inauguration of a storage centre at Marmont

On Monday 18 February 2013, Jean-Baptiste Chavannes went to Mangoda, a zone near Marmont, for the inauguration of a storage and processing plant for maize.

Around 360 people were there to welcome the MPP team, with songs, prayers and sketches!
This 40 000 dollar project has been co-financed by Développement et Paix and ACDI, two Canadian partners of the MPP.

Several key people made speeches, about the importance of this type of modern mill. Mr Chavannes also stressed the importance of groups and of organising communities. Five other centres will also be inaugurated, in Lascahobas (Tuesday 19 February), Saut-d’eau (Thursday 21 February), Mirebalais, Cerca-la Source and Hinche-Jacob.
These new storage centres are a huge improvement in processing methods.
