MPP Awards

1989: MPP is recognized by the government of Haiti for its contribution to the country in different sectors including: agriculture and rural development, health, education, etc. and this recognition is published in the official Journal of the state, “Le Moniteur”, on September 24, 1990(ref No 83-B).


Because of MPP accomplishments, its founder and executive director, Chavannes Jean-Baptiste, has received various awards and honors.  These include:

2005 Goldman Environmental Prize .
1996 Doctor of Humane Letters, Honoris Causa, granted by Fitchburg State College in   Massachusetts on the occasion of its centennial anniversary.
1993 Alan Shawn Feinstein, World Hunger Award, Brown University , Rhode Island

1988 International Human Rights Award (French Human Rights Commission), awarded on 40th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights from  the Prime Minister of France at the Matignon PalaceCurrently he is a Member of the International Coordination Committee of Via  Campesina.
